Cient\u00edficos de la Universidad de Columbia Brit\u00e1nica, Canad\u00e1, realizaron una revisi\u00f3n de los efectos sobre la salud mental del consumo de cannabis. \u00abLa investigaci\u00f3n sugiere que la gente puede estar consumiendo cannabis como droga de salida de sustancias potencialmente m\u00e1s da\u00f1inas, como los f\u00e1rmacos opioide para el dolor\u00bb, dijo el investigador principal del estudio Zach Walsh, profesor asociado de psicolog\u00eda en el campus Okanagan de la Universidad de la Columbia Brit\u00e1nica.<\/p>\n<p>En la reuni\u00f3n anual de la Sociedad Americana de Neurociencia un grupo del Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Scripps de La Jolla, EE.UU., inform\u00f3 sobre la investigaci\u00f3n preliminar que muestra que el cannabidiol puede apaciguar el deseo de consumo de coca\u00edna en ratas. Los cient\u00edficos permitieron que las ratas se dosificaran a voluntad con coca\u00edna hasta que se convirtieran en adictos. Al cabo de tres meses dieron a algunos de los animales parches transd\u00e9rmicos con cannabidiol. Las ratas que recibieron los parches redujeron la ingesta de coca\u00edna mientras que las que no continuaron consumiendo tanta coca\u00edna como antes.
